Introduction

The village of ponds in Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, is a region known for its rice irrigation system, which is a vital component of the local economy. However, the increasing amount of detergent waste in the area has raised concerns about its impact on the quality of soil and water. This study aims to investigate the effect of detergent waste on the flow of rice irrigation in the village of ponds, with a focus on the distribution of phosphate, electrical conductivity, and soil pH.

Methodology

The research was conducted from September 2017 to January 2018, using the free grid method for data collection. The study area was divided into a grid system, with each grid representing a sample point. The phosphate analysis was conducted using the Bray II method, while the electrical conductivity was measured using a conductivitimeter and soil pH using a pH meter.

Results

The results of the study showed that the distribution of phosphate in the area consisted of very low categories (5.9%), low (80.1%), and moderate (14%). The distribution of land electrical conductivity showed a low value, while the soil pH was identified in the sour category. The results of the sample point analysis revealed that the availability of phosphate decreased by 0.088 ppm further away from irrigation.
