Introduction

The Perbaungan District in Serdang Bedagai Regency is one of the regions in Indonesia that has a significant potential for rice production. This study aims to analyze the fuel requirements of large and small rice milling in Perbaungan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency.

Methodology

This study uses a combination of primary and secondary data to analyze the fuel requirements of large and small rice milling in Perbaungan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The primary data was collected through surveys and interviews with farmers and rice grinders in the district. The secondary data was obtained from the Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Office of Serdang Bedagai Regency and other related agencies.

Main Findings

The study found that Melati II Village in Perbaungan District has the largest paddy field area, reaching 847 hectares. This condition shows a great potential for rice milling activities in the village, which subsequently affects the fuel needs that will be used. The study also found that large rice milling machines require more fuel than small ones, but they are also more efficient and can produce more rice per hour.

Analysis of Fuel Needs

Fuel plays an important role in ensuring the smooth production process of rice milling. Large and small rice milling usually uses different fuel sources. Large milling tends to use fuel with a larger and more efficient volume, while small milling may rely on a simpler source and is sometimes more expensive. Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations are made:

Limitations of the Study

This study has several limitations. Firstly, the study only analyzed the fuel requirements of large and small rice milling in Perbaungan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Therefore, the findings of this study may not be generalizable to other regions in Indonesia. Secondly, the study only used primary and secondary data, and did not conduct any experiments or simulations.
