Introduction

This study examines the effect of the application of the accounting system, the use of technology, internal supervision, budgeting participation, and good governance on accountability in the management of village funds allocation in Patumbak District, Deli Serdang Regency.

The management of village funds is a critical issue in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas. The data was analyzed using multiple linear regression.

Results

The results of this study showed that the application of the accounting system, budgeting participation, and good governance practices had a positive and significant influence on accountability in the management of village funds. This indicates that a structured accounting system, active community participation in the budgeting process, and good governance practices can increase accountability in the management of village funds.

Interestingly, the use of technology actually has a negative and significant influence on accountability. This is probably caused by several factors, such as lack of understanding and skills in utilizing information technology, lack of supporting infrastructure, and lack of integration of technology systems with existing accounting systems.

Internal supervision, on the other hand, does not show a significant effect on accountability. This may be caused by factors such as lack of independence and professionalism in the implementation of internal supervision, or lack of enforcement of rules and sanctions on violations.

The results of this study suggest that the application of the accounting system, budgeting participation, and good governance practices are essential for increasing accountability in the management of village funds.
