This study employed an analytic design with a cross-sectional approach, conducted from March to June 2019 in the Ceramic X industry located in Mabar, Medan City. The research subjects consisted of workers who were distinguished based on their work location. To obtain accurate data, dust content was measured using a personal dust sampler tool. Statistical analysis was carried out using the Chi Square test and t-test through SPSS software to determine the relationship between dust content and lung function.

The measured dust levels showed significant variations, with 24.8 mg/m³ in pre-compression, 29.2 mg/m³ in compression, and 6.11 mg/m³ in syinper. The results of lung function examination revealed that 21 people (60%) had restriction abnormalities, but no significant relationship was found between dust content and lung function (P> 0.05).

Although the results showed the absence of a significant relationship between dust levels in the workplace and lung function, this phenomenon is still noteworthy.
